NEWS: LARGE BATCH JUST IN! 100+ XP CD/DVD ROMS!

Hello everyone! 😀

I am overjoyed to tell you that I’ve just been to pick up, what has to be the LARGEST batch of CD-ROMS from a fellow Freecylcer Roy!

He has kindly donated to me a nearly complete subscription to XP Magazine (Microsoft official), including all the DVD ROMS supplied with them… each DVD contains up to 8GB of software goodies! So expect to be seeing many different:

• Programs
• Utilities
• Updates
• Patches
• Games
• Game Demos

Of course as you know the world of Copyright is at hand here, so not everything, on the discs will be available – only those that permit sharing through a license such as Open-Source, Freeware or Shareware.

He also threw in a couple of internet set-up discs! From suppliers Orange, Tiscali, Virgin, Tesco and the dreaded, AOL. He also kindly donated some PC-Game’s, some of which I can share with you (more shareware! Yaay!) – others, sadly I cannot (Price of Persia, Tomb Raider, Theif II). 😦

WAREZ: The Palace of Deceit 2.1- The Dragon’s Plight (Gold Edition)

This is The Palace of Deceit 2.1- The Dragon’s Plight (Gold Edition) released in 1992 by Cliff Bleszinski/Game Syndicate Productions (Shareware version). I can’t get this game to play as it requires Windows (so won’t emulate in DOSBox) and it won’t run in compatibility on Windows 7. It requires Windows 3.1 (something  I do not have) and has to be run in 256 colours at 640×480 – too much hassle for me…. i’ll still put it up; as normal post your experiences in the comments!

WAREZ: DoubleLink Version 1.0 (Shareware Version)

This is DoubleLink released in 1991 by Paul R. Tupaczewski/Stevens Institute of Technology (Shareware version). This is a re-incarnation of Tetris maybe? Mixed with Bejeweled or something like that. You have to move the ‘pills’ (well they look like pills so i’m gonna call them pills) left and right, and rotate using the spacebar to fit into each other. You have to create a row of four blocks/sections of the same colour for them to disappear and for you to gain points. There are these little guys called ‘meanies’ who just idly sit there not doing anything, and you have to remove these… removing all the meanies allows you to proceed to the next level. A simple, and quite boring game. Sorry about the size of the screenshots but thats actually the resolution it runs at! Game was tested in DOSBox.

WAREZ: 3D Space Mob

This is 3D Space Mob – the shareware trail version again. This game is strictly DOS (I had to run it in the trusty ol’DOSBox), but is quite nice in its graphical content, and has some funky midi music. Im sure if I actually intended to play the game properly, I would soon find that its a good game – but I dont have the time. The game appears to be a standard side-scrolling platform – but I had a problem of only being able to shoot up? Which was odd. Anyway, the only other problem I had was I felt the controls where a bit heavy. Developed by GameScape Studios, published by Ultisoft.

WAREZ: 3D Spin Ball

This is 3D Spin Ball – the shareware version (not the full game). A mix of pinball and pong and breakout – you control four paddles and the aim is to remove all the balls in the center of the screen. The game is published by Ultisoft and authored by Alex Liebert, released in 1997. The credits are from the help document included:
